For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved school—especially math and science. My parents and family always encouraged me to pursue interests in engineering and science throughout my childhood. However, it wasn’t until I took a Project Lead the Way engineering course in high school that I saw engineering as a potential path for me. Since then, many experiences along my journey have shaped my path and led me to where I am today, and I’m grateful for each one of them.

My goal when working with each student is not only to improve their performance in the subject matter, but also to build and support their confidence. As a child, I moved several times, which led to insecurities in my math skills due to constantly changing curricula. I once had a math teacher tell me, “Trust your math.” It took time, but eventually I developed confidence in myself and my mathematical abilities. That shift transformed how I approached learning new concepts. I bring the same mindset to my students: helping them understand the material while also encouraging them to trust in their own ability to solve problems.

It may not be a tangible achievement, but I’m most proud of my dedication and passion—not just in my career, but in all aspects of life. As I’ve grown, I’ve come to understand how easy it can be to settle into a routine that doesn’t truly align with your aspirations. I take pride in taking risks and putting in the work to build a career and lifestyle that genuinely excite and fulfill me.

I really enjoy running! It is something I picked up during my undergraduate and never stopped. I have a yearlong streak of running every day and have participated in several half marathons and marathons.

Unfortunately, I need to get more into reading novels for fun. Most of my reading is of journal articles and texts that pertain to my doctoral research or of other outside interests.
